Broken: Road sign

Maurice Gaston writes:

This sign caught my eye as I motored down the main road through town. Some bright soul tried to be as helpful as possible by including all the relevant information on this sign for me. Too bad the the type is too small to see at 30 mph...

I agree, pretty bad duplicate too. Forgot shadows and such. Tsk tsk.

Also note that the sign says to start construction "about" x-xx-xx!

ummmm... what's wrong with the shadows? they all look the same, the sign's shadow would be in the foreground, so it's ambiguous, isn't it? what's the reasoning behind the general 'fake' consensus?

I'd think the delays would come more from people stopping to read the sign rather than the consruction.

I've seen signs like this in my town in PA.......but a little less wordy

Wow! *chuckles* Not to troll or anything, but...

Ummm.. I don't now HOW to prove this to you guys, but that sign is real. I'd let you talk to my wife, who I annoyed to no end turning around and around to get a good shot of it, but somehow I think that wouldn't be very convincing.

If it helps, the sign itself was not on a particularly busy street. It was just outside of Chatham NJ, and I don't expect that they see an awful lot of motorists who are from outside the area.

Also, the camera (a Canon digital point-and-shoot) isn't the best at capturing the fine details at that range.

It's funny to me, because (since I was actually there) it just seems illogical to doubt it! I can't even see the "evidence" of fakery, but I'm sure you guys have your reasons for thinking it's not real...
