Broken: (Just for fun) Baby-chick egg

BabychickFrom the excellent site cuteoverload.com:

This reminded me of the This is Broken logo.

Comments:

the idea may be cute... but that chick looks angry. almost murderous.

Yup, hard to argue -- that shell is definitely broken.

The logo that is antialiased to white while being displayed on a green background? The logo that is scaled to a different size, making it look pixellated in most browsers?

Yes. Broken.

This is obviously broken. Eggs are supposed to be white.

That chick is like, "First!"

There's someone that didn't grow up on or near a farm -- chicken eggs are different colors depending on which chicken laid them, but they're both perfectly good eggs. I have picked eggs from chickens on a farm, some are white, some are brown. "The color of the shell has nothing to do with egg quality, nutritional value or flavor. ... the reason brown eggs cost more is because the brown-egg variety of chickens are bigger eaters and cost more to feed."

Jello B is broken. Eggs are not supposed to be white. In the U.S. they're white because people like them like that. Where I live they're all brown just because that's how we like them. It's just marketing.

The chick is cute...

This is what the internet is all about. Pictures of cute chicks.

I'll tell you what's broken! It's something completely off-topic that I want to stand on a soapbox and rant about!

Would you call an angry baby chicken a hot chick?

Posted by: =David at April 13, 2006 01:16 PM

Its broken because when a chick comes out of an egg, they are not flufy and cute, they are wet and ugly.

My sister had a hen that laid pastel green eggs: Henrietta

What is broken here? There is no logo!

Posted by: at April 13, 2006 03:20 PM

That chick didn't just come out of the broken egg. It pecked it open and ate out the wet, slimy embroyo inside. MMMmmm good! It's not mad, just needs a good nap after a big meal. Sweet dreams, my peeps!

can't argue w/this one!

it's broke and you know it.

There's someone that didn't grow up on or near a farm

Jello B is broken.

I guess I should've made my sarcasm more apparent... I know all that stuff about egg color. That's why I said it.

Posted by: Jello B. at April 13, 2006 07:46 PM

Yeah, suuurre Jello B. And, by the way, what they mean by the logo is the broken eggshell to replace the "O" in "BROKEN" at the top of the page.

P.S. The chick is adorable.

P.S.S. It wasn't posted under "Broken", it was posted under "Just For Fun"

brown eggs are local and local eggs are fresh.

Posted by: fresh at April 13, 2006 11:45 PM

hey Joe, lay off Jello B. He already knows everything you're saying, and your saying it just makes you look like a jerk.
