Broken: Swimsuit view

SwimsuitA reader writes in:

I was shopping Nike.com for a new (women's) swimsuit and saw this weird image of the back of the swimsuit. It looks, well, anatomically impossible - the woman's chest and bottom appear to be on the same side.

There's got to be a better way of showing what the swimsuit looks like!

Comments:

That's the dreaded "front-butt" phenomenon.

Now that I've gone through all the actvation process for posting a comment I've forgotten what I was going to say.....

Er... that's the back view. What you're seeing as the "chest" is the support strapping and protrusion of the shoulder blades. The bottom right clearly shows the front and back views.

I'm thinking you might want to brush up on what a woman's breasts look like, and where they appear on the body.

Hm. Perhaps changing the view so that it is rotated a few degrees from where it is would help.

Even better, if they are going to render the suit using CGI, then clearly they have rendered it upon some sort of framework of what the wearer's torso should look like. They should then render that, too.

What's up with the new registration system?

I don't think that it's a case of 'front butt.' It's more of a 'back boobies' issue.

I can't tell if that's the front or the back. If I were just casually looking at it I would have thought it was the front and gotten a weird look on my face trying to think of what was wrong with it. And this new thing of having to sign in is a real pain in the neck.

It looks like you can choose front or back view but they should show it at least on a dummy with an upper body and head.

This suit has been meticulously tailored for women with a "gunt."
