Broken: Parking space border lines

ColorbordersparkingStefan Bucher submits a picture of a parking lot in Zurich, Switzerland:

How am I supposed to know which color marks the right borders for a parking space?

Blue, yellow, white or red?

Comments:

It's the grey lines.

I see how that could be confusing, but isn't the black car parked in the yellow spot?

Are the red lines for compact cars then? =)

Oh wait, that's a blue car...

First!

And second.

and third...

and fourth......

The blue car seems to be a Volkswagon Golf, which is really compact by most standards. The yellow lines determine the sides of the parking space, and the squares with red, yellow, and blue say where your wheels should go, at least that is what the Golf driver did...

But its broken...really broken

What Kind of Sick Twisted Monster Could Have Painted Such a Thing!?!

Someone had some extra paint and extra time to meet the budget?

This is the parking garage at the Mondrian Museum.

Park anywhere you want. My theory is that:

Yellow lines are for big cars

Red lines for bicycles or motorcycles.

Don't know what the other lines are for.

My theory is that somewhere in the rulebook, it says they have to repaint the stripes on the parking lot once a year. Rather than trying to strip the old paint or take the care to paint over it, they simply decided to slap down a new color every year and tell everyone "This year, park between the yellow stripes!" Which means that if this trend continues, they will eventually have the world's first and only plaid parking lot.

Yeah, Joe. REALLY compact cars.

The paint has nothing to do with the parking spaces. At night, when the garage closes and all the cars are gone, local teams use the place as a flutney to play 43-man squamish.

It is the yellow one, because the other lines you can't park there because the wall is in the way.
