Broken: First Internet Bank of Indiana message

UnavailSean Santry writes:

I recently tried to log in to my bank's website, The First Internet Bank of Indiana, to check my balance. I was confronted with a page with this message:

"Internet Banking is temporarily unavailable. Please try after Sometime. Thank you."

OK, I'll just wait until after Sometime to find out how much money I have in my account. Gee, thanks!

Comments:

Sometime..as "sometime next week"? "sometime next month"? "sometime next year"? "sometime when dracula come down to earth and suck your blood"? "sometime..sometime..sometime..

creeps from this petty pace from day to day to the last syllable of recorded time..(that was from MacBeth)"

FIRST!

"Please check back whenever".

It looks like

"Sometime" is a placeholder in the code meant to be replaced by more specific text, such as "15 minutes", but the webmaster never changed it. The capitalization, which would otherwise be stupid in addition to broken, is evidence of this.

Odd, I don't remember putting a carriage return there...

bkofford: yes, it really should be replaced. They could have done the placeholder to change the "if no time, then print "sometime"" thing to a better suited word.

Though I have no idea what that would be. Possibly "Check back tomorrow" would suit it if it is a serious server crash/change.

"Please check back once Duke Nukem Forever is released"

:)

st33med: I think that "check back later", like virtually every other site does, would work fine.
